Sayre Law Offices Attorney Profiles

Matt Sayre founded the firm in 1969 when he opened his solo practice in Seattle's Columbia City District, succeeding the late James J. McBride whose practice there dated back to the early 1950's.  A general practitioner, Matt provided a broad range of legal services to the community.

In 1982, Matt moved his practice to its present location, a renovated building on Seattle's First Hill at 1016 Jefferson Street, just off Boren Avenue between Swedish and Harborview Medical Centers.  While there, he rose through the ranks to head the Seattle-King County Bar Association.  After 26 years, the firm relocated in 2008 to its present location, also on Seattle’s First Hill at 1320 University street, between Boren and Broadway.

Jeff Sayre joined his father in 1993 after several years at Perkins Coie, and the firm changed its name to Sayre Law Offices.  The next year, a second office was opened on Vashon Island.

Karin Treadwell joined the firm as an associate attorney in 1997.  She previously worked as a law clerk while still in law school.  Eric Nelsen began working at Sayre Law Offices in 1994 as an experienced legal secretary and paralegal.  He has worked for the firm since then, including part-time while in law school and as an associate attorney since his admission to practice in 2001.  Christine Martin first joined Sayre Law Offices as a law clerk in 2000, and has been an associate attorney with the firm since 2001.

Sayre Law Offices currently maintains offices in Seattle and Vashon and consists of five attorneys with a wide range of experience.  Areas of practice include general civil, trial and appellate practice, with an emphasis on real estate, probate, estate planning, commercial collection law, business law, and personal injury.
